The 8 project

The 8 Project is a psychomagical, ritualistic, and performative exploration in dance and esoterism. As the name suggests, we delve deeply into the energy and correspondences of the symbol 8, navigating within and beyond its boundaries to discover different aspects of ourselves.

There are several reasons why we focus on this symbol:

Firstly, the exploration began with the first eclipse of 2024. If we sum the number 2+0+2+4 it carries, numerologically speaking, the energy of 8, symbolizing manifestation of desires and ideas.

Secondly, the number 8 corresponds to the states of change in nature and the eight seasons of the year in the BA GUA in Chinese culture, pagan and neopagan traditions, reminding us of our connection with nature.

Thirdly, the symbol 8, or infinity, appears in various Tarot cards such as The Magician, The Strength, Temperance, and The World, allowing us to embody these powerful archetypes and characters in dance, as well as the different eights from the minor arcana.

Lastly, the 8th Chakra is commonly named The Star Chakra or The Soul Chakra, placed above our crown. Is associated with the vital energy that comes from the cosmos as higher consciousness, enhancing our understanding and spiritual growth.
